Deputy and Cop Fatally Shoot Man in Washington Standoff
EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — A 58-year-old man was shot by police during a standoff and died in Everett on Saturday, investigators said.
The Skagit-Island Multiple Agency Response Team said Monday that Everett police were called to a residence late Friday for a call in which a victim had visible injuries, The Seattle Times Reported,
Everett police used a loudspeaker to call the man outside but investigators say he looked out a window and didn’t respond. Police then requested SWAT and during negotiation attempts, the man pointed a gun out the window, according to a statement from investigators.
Police obtained a warrant for his arrest. The man went into the backyard.
Around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, five SWAT team members entered the backyard, gave commands and then two SWAT members shot him, investigators said.

The man’s name hasn’t been released.
The man died at the scene, the statement said. He had two handguns, according to the investigative team. Investigators didn’t say whether the man fired or was holding a gun when he was shot. No members of law enforcement were hurt.
The unnamed officers who killed the man are an Everett officer and a Snohomish County deputy. Both were put on paid leave.
